Quality Control and Discrimination of Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Nees based on High Performance Liquid Chromatography Fingerprinting Combined with Chemometric Approaches

Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Nees is a potential medicinal herb used to treat wide range of diseases. Various geographical origins this might lead the diversity herbal quality. The research aims establish chemical fingerprint for quality control and find out markers discrimination from different origin through chemometrics approach. A high performance liquid chromatography photo diode array method was developed simultaneous quantiï¬cation ï¬ve marker compounds establishing 28 locations Eastern India. Chemometrics techniques including hierarchical cluster analysis, principal component analysis partial least squares discriminant were used. similarities between each sample simulative mean chromatogram greater than 0.90. relative standard deviation retention time peak area precision, stability repeatability 12 characteristic peaks in these samples less 1 % 3 %, respectively. andrographolide content Odisha region varied 2.68-5.47 %. results showed that could be successfully grouped into two groups accordance with origin.
